Welcome to 2009! It is hard to believe the first month of this year is almost over! We have a new President in office and I pray things will start to move in a positive direction for everyone. So in preparation for kicking the New Year off on the right foot I enjoyed a great book during the holidays and I wanted to share it with you. This book will change your mind set and it will allow you to see that things can always be better if you just put your POSITIVE mind to it. Everything starts with a positive attitude and there will always be "Energy Vampires" trying to change your mind and take your positive thoughts and energy away, but what you do with those people why effect your outcome. So as you can see, I am literally putting the 10 steps of this book to good use. I am already talking the talk and walking the walk. I would love for you to get on The Energy Bus with me. The Energy Bus written by Jon Gordon is a fantastic read and it will change your life. I spoke to a small group of highly motivated business people recently about this book and how it can change their organization and their lives personally, if they would just read it and practice the principles of it. I am hearing great feedback from each of them, and can't wait to see what this energized group accomplishes in this new year!
So in a nutshell, this book explains to you that you are the driver of your bus. So how you decide to operate it, fuel it, promote it, add others to it, how you treat your passengers on the bus and the purpose you drive that bus with will either make for an AWESOME ride that you never want to stop, or maybe a bus with a flat tire that wears out on you during your journey! You Choose!!!!!!!!
I wish you an awesome year and look forward to talking with each of you throughout the year about how your ride is going on YOUR ENERGY BUS!
Be Blessed~
Kendra was recently honored by the United Way of Rutherford County at a High Tea. She was honored as one of the top 20 leaders in the County under 40! The event was to honor young women who are committed to impacting many lives and that help to maintain the “giving culture” in our Communtiy.

This man cave not only boasts a 47-inch flat-screen TV, but also a 19-inch one for checking the latest scores from all the games in the league. |

Man Caves' Jason Cameron shows a homeowner how to mount a flat-screen TV to his basement wall.
Materials:
- flat-screen TV
- mounting kit
- screws and washers (typically provided in kit)
- stud finder (or hammer and small nails)
- tape measure
- 18-volt drill
- level
Steps:
1. Once you've unpacked the TV, place the screen face down on a blanket on a hard surface. Keep the plastic protective covering on it.
2. Most TVs will come with brackets that attach to the back, along with a series of screws. Since all sets vary, most kits come with a series of screws of variable sizes for mounting the brackets on the back. Choose the set that fits best and screw them on. Make sure that the brackets are the same distance in relation to the top and bottom of the frame of the TV (figure A).
3. Once the brackets are on, measure from the top of the bracket to the top of the screen. Then, place the set against the wall and measure from the top down, making sure you have enough clearance to put in your TV.
4. Once you have the height determined, use the stud finder to locate the two studs within the wall. If nothing is found with the device, you can estimate that the studs will be about 16 inches apart. Mark where the edges of the studs are, then locate the center. Since the TV will be putting a great deal of weight on these studs, it's best to drill into them as close to the center as possible.
6. Use a level to determine the spots to drill (figure B). Drill one hole and screw in one side of the wall mount. Use the level again and make sure that the mount is going on straight, then do the other side. Once both screws have been set, attach the hooks to the TV and hang on the mount.
